PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method of producing α- aminoketones by solving such problem that the synthetic process therefor is limited, since the α-aminoketones are useful as a synthetic intermediate for β-aminoalcohols or for synthesis of N atom-containing heterocyclic rings, but are unstable under the conditions except the acidic ones. SOLUTION: The method of producing α-aminoketones that are represented by general formula (I) is characterized by allowing a compound represented by general formula (II) to react with a base and a lower alcohol in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst (wherein R1, R2 and R2' are mutually identical or different from one another, and represent H, an alkyl, aryl which may be substituted, heteroaryl which may be substituted or an aralkyl which may be substituted and R3 is an eliminating group). |
