The invention concerns a novel formulation for prolonged release of an active principle which is zolpidem hemitartrate. The inventive formulation comprises a matrix support based on hydrophilic polymer containing a specific dose of active principle, and further comprises one or more acidifying agents in the form of an acid salt of an organic acid, wherein the acid salt of an organic acid is monopotassium tartrate, monosodium tartrate, monosodium citrate, bisodium citrate, and mixtures thereof. |
