<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent causing damage to respective sections under image formation operation even if the electric power supply from a main power supply system is shut off during the image formation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with an auxiliary power supply system 2 to be charged by the main power supply system 1 in addition to the main power supply system 1 and at the time of the startup of a heating element 6 for fixing a toner image, the power is supplied to the heating element 6 from both of the main power supply system 1 and the auxiliary power supply system 2. When the shutoff of the power supply from the main power supply system 1 due to a service interruption etc., is detected by a service interruption detecting circuit 13, a control unit 50 performs control so as to supply the power from the auxiliary power supply system 2 to at least an imaging section 9, thereby allowing the imaging operation of the job to be continued even if there is the job during the course of the imaging. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
