<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side airbag device excellent in function for protecting a head part of an occupant in a collision from an oblique front side relative to the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A sub-chamber formation part Fo is connected to an inner side surface of an upper part So1 of a main chamber formation part So. A part of high pressure gas flowing into the main chamber flows into the sub-chamber in the sub-chamber formation part Fo. After the sub-chamber formation part Fo is folded/bent from a rear side to a front side by a bottom folding line T3, it is folded/bent from a front side to a rear side by a crest folding line Y2.
