CALCIUM AND/OR MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE WITH HIGHER ACTIVITY, AND PREPARATION THEREOF

Calcium or magnesium hydroxide particles (I) have a 0.49 nm x-ray powder diffraction line whose intensity is less than 50% of that of conventional slaked lime with a moisture content of 1.5% and a surface area of 15.8 m 2>/g produced by reacting 1 part by weight of ground quicklime with 0.6 parts water. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a process for producing (I); (2) calcium silicate bricks produced by mixing moist silica sand with (I) and molding and autoclaving the mixture, where the bricks have a compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm 2>after 7 days at 20[deg] C.
