A durable, resilient support bearing assembly for a torsion bar used as part of a vehicle anti-roll system comprises an inner sleeve (a) that can easily be fitted to hot-forged or hot-formed torsion bars (c) via an adhesive layer (b). The outer surface of the inner sleeve (a) provides a smooth low wear running surface for the bearing material ((b) in Figure 2). The inner sleeve (a) is preferably formed from corrosion-resistant material, e.g. stainless steel, and the adhesive layer (b) may comprise a layer of toughened/flexible adhesive or alternatively a layer of rubber bonded to the inner sleeve (a) and the torsion bar (c) by vulcanization. |
