PURPOSE: An operating method of a heat pump system and a control method of a brine apparatus are provided to smoothly make the evaporation of refrigerant in a heating operation and the condensation of refrigerant in a cooling operation by installing a brine device at a heat pump system. CONSTITUTION: An operating method of a heat pump system comprises the following steps. In a heating mode, the inner temperature and the outer temperature of a second heat exchanger are detected by a sensor(S100). The measured inner and outer temperatures are compared with a predetermined value input to a controller(S200). If the inner and outer temperatures exceed the range of the predetermined value, the controller operates the brine pump for a brine apparatus and transfers the antifreez heat-exchanged through a brine heat exchanger to a brine heat pump(S300) to prevent freezing from occurring at the outside of the second heat exchanger(S300). If the inner and outer temperatures is within the range of the predetermined value, the control of the brine apparatus ends(S400).
