PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for analyzing and searching an index are provided to rapidly and accurately digital data through an indexing schema using pattern matching. CONSTITUTION: A virtual drive generator(10) generates a virtual drive for a digital data collected as evidence, and an index analyzer(12) performs pattern matching to extract an index from the digital data stored at the virtual drive generator. A database(14) stores the digital data including the extracted index. When a user selects indexing target data, a filtering unit(16) converts a text included in the indexing target data into a plane text.
