PURPOSE: An electrophoretic display device and a manufacturing method of the same are provided to reduce an inactive area, thereby realizing a large screen with a high completion level. CONSTITUTION: A substrate(120) is defined by active areas and inactive areas. A plurality of cells(130) is formed on a plurality of active areas on the substrate. One protection film(140) is formed on the front of the substrate including the cells. A seal pattern(150) is formed between the substrate and the protection film along with the edge of the substrate. The substrate is one motherboard.
