PURPOSE: An image production apparatus and a paper conveying method therefor are provided to discharge printed paper at a scheduled printing speed by installing a pickup roller for picking up and conveying paper to a registration roller. CONSTITUTION: An image production apparatus(1) comprises a paper feeding unit(20), a printing unit(30), a registration roller(200) and a pickup roller(100). The paper feeding unit holds paper. The printing unit prints image on the paper provided from the paper feeding unit. The registration roller transfers the paper to the printing unit. The pick-up roller picks up the paper from the paper feeding unit. The pick-up roller transfers the paper to the registration roller.
