PURPOSE: A semiconductor memory device is provided to reduce occupancy area in a chip by connecting a plurality of temperature sensing circuits to a common control circuit and controlling the refresh period of a plurality of memory banks through a multiplexing. CONSTITUTION: Temperatures sensing circuits(30,31,34,35) corresponds to a plurality of memory banks(21,22,23,24). A control circuit(32) is commonly connected between the temperature sensing circuits and a refresh circuits for refreshing a plurality of memory banks. A control circuit calibrates the temperature detection circuit. The control circuit processing a signal for independently controlling the refresh cycle of a plurality of memory banks and supplies the processed signal to the refresh circuits. The control circuit processes the signals through a time sharing multiplexing method. |
