PURPOSE: A complex number multiplying method using a floating point is provided to process plural complex number multiplexing operations rapidly in a communication environment in which complex number operation quantity is large, perform accurate calculation and reduce a chip area. CONSTITUTION: A floating point bit string type first and second complex numbers are inputted(S10), and the complex number consists of real and imaginary number groups which respectively include encoding unit, an exponent unit and an effective number unit. The absolute value for the sum of the first and second complex numbers is calculated(S20). The multiplication for the first and second complex numbers is obtained(S30).
