SNOW-DEPTH GUAGE USING LASER LIGHT SOURCE

PURPOSE: A snow-depth meter using a laser beam source is provided to more precisely calculate the average amount of snowfall by calculating it in the area to which a circular laser beam source is illuminated. CONSTITUTION: A snow-depth meter(100) using a laser beam source comprises a laser beam generator(110), and a photographing module(130) and a calculation/ /control module(150). From the laser beam generator, a circular laser beam is generated. The photographing module comprises a bandpass filter. By using the elliptic equation approximated to the image obtained by the photographing module, the calculation/control module calculates the height of the settled snow. The calculation/control module calculates the height of the settled snow through the long-side length and the short-side length of the elliptic equation. The calculation/control module controls the tilting unit installed at the laser beam generator.
