A color polarizer with a support whose brightness and polarization performance are good for a blue channel (for blue light). The color polarizer for a liquid crystal projector including a support and a color polarizer which contains stilbene water-soluble azoic dye as dichroic molecule and has a single plate average transmittance of more than 39 % in a range from 420 to 500 nm, an average transmittance of less than 0.4 % at the orthogonal position, and an average transmittance of more than 4 % at the orthogonal position in a range from 650 to 780 nm.
