PURPOSE: A method for selecting the actions of a robot is provided to remove modeling work about environment and to react the environmental changing. CONSTITUTION: A method for selecting the actions of a robot is as follows. The action of the robot is hierarchically composed. The action copes with a base unit of action selection(S10). An action of a proper upper layer is selected according to recognized conditions(S13). A collision between the actions of the lower layer included in the selected action is tested(S14). The final action is selected according to a collision testing result(S15).
