PURPOSE: An ESD protection device and a composite electronic component of the same are provided to improve durability by reducing a discharge voltage. CONSTITUTION: A gas(2) has an insulating surface property(2a). Electrodes(3a,3b) are arranged on the surface of insulating electrical surface property. The electrodes are separated from each other. A function layer(4) is arranged between electrodes. The gap distance between electrode is 0.50-10um.
