METHOD FOR MAGNETIC INSPECTION OF INTERIOR PROFILE OF PIPELINES AND DEVICE FOR REALISING SAID METHOD

FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: region with stable magnetic potential difference is created between the yoke of a pig and the wall of a pipeline using two magnetising belts. The surface of the joke and the surface of the surface of the pipe walls over the yoke become equipotential surfaces. Magnetic field sensors arranged in form of a measuring belt record the topography of the magnetic field. The number of measuring belts is defined by the required resolution along the pipe and on its perimetre. Profile parametres of the pipe, inner surface defects and size of non-magnetic obstacles are determined from the magnetic field measurement results. The device is made in form of a pig and has a housing-yoke on the faces of which there are support-motor elements. The magnetising system is made in form of two magnetising belts made from permanent radially magnetised magnets mounted on the housing, on the poles of which there are magnetic brushes made from magnetically soft material. The measuring system is placed between the magnetising belts and can have two or more measuring belts in one section, which form a measuring section.
