A double wall is made of planks with both outer wall 48 and inner wall 47 composed of sets of planks 42 arranged on top of each other. At intervals, inside the wall, is a vertical member 51. The vertical member 51 has retainers that span the thickness of the wall. Each retainer has one end engaged in a slot in the inner wall 47 and the other end engaged in a slot in the outer wall 48. Vertical brace assemblies are also placed inside the walls. Each brace assembly is composed of a bracket 50 at the top of the wall, a bracket 50 at the bottom of the wall and a tie rod 51 with a tensioning mechanism extending between the two brackets.
