The device has articulations (11) directly fixing a collecting plate to a front end of a motorized land vehicle i.e. van (4). Articulated hydraulic jacks (12) move the plate from a non-operational lifted position to a lowered collecting position and vice versa. The hydraulic jacks pivot the collecting plate between the lifted position in which the collecting plate is oriented perpendicular to a surface of a roadway, and the lowered position in which the collecting plate is parallel to the surface of the roadway. An independent claim is also included for a motorized land vehicle comprising an object collecting device.
