METHOD FOR REARING LABORATORY CULTURE OF GRAIN ANGOUMOIS MOTH (SITOTROGA CEREALELLA OLIV.)

A method for rearing laboratory culture of the grain moth (Sitotroga cerealella Oliv.) includes directed effect of stimulants in different periods of individual development. Females of the moth, after rebirth and mating thereof, on the first day are fed with a diet as a 5 % aqueous solution of honey. On the second day the females are fed with a diet as a mixture of the 5 % aqueous solution of honey and a 0.002-0.004 % solution of native desoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). On the 5th day the females are fed with a diet as a mixture of a 1 % aqueous solution of honey and a 0.003-0.004 % aqueous solution of ribonucleic acid (RNA) modified by thiophosphamide.
