PURPOSE: An organic light emitting device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent damage to the organic light emitting unit caused by filler by forming an organic protective layer between the organic light emitting unit and the filler. CONSTITUTION: An organic light emitting unit(200) is formed on a device substrate(100). An organic light emitting unit includes one organic light emitting device or more. The organic light emitting device is comprised of a pair of electrode and an organic layer. An organic layer is interposed between the pair of electrodes. An encapsulating substrate(300) is arranged on the organic light emitting unit. A sealant(410) bonds the device substrate with the encapsulating substrate. The filler is interposed between the device substrate and the encapsulating substrate. An organic protective layer(450) is formed between the organic light emitting layer and the filler.
