A gate post assembly

Disclosed is a gate post assembly. The assembly includes a gate post (10) having a sidewall which is at least partially arcuate, an opening (11) for receiving a fence barrier member and a planar portion (12) formed in the perimeter of the sidewall. The planar portion is adapted to receive gate mounting and/or securing fittings, and is provided parallel to the fence barrier member which extends into the opening of the post. The assembly further includes a spacing member which is shaped to be fitted into and secured in the opening so as to locate the fence barrier member.
