PURPOSE: An environment-friendly paste for an electrode of a solar cell and the solar cell using the same are provided to have low serial resistance and high shunt resistance, thereby improving electrical performance. CONSTITUTION: A paste for an electrode of a solar cell includes a solid state component and a dispersion medium. The solid state component includes at least one conductive power, a glass frit, and at least one bismuth component. The conductive powder is selected from metal and metal containing compound. The glass frit contain does not includes a lead component. The bismuth component is selected from bismuth and bismuth containing compound. The conductive powder comprises at least one selected from silver, silver alloy, and silver compound.
