MIXTURES OF BROMINATED DIPHENYL ETHANES, METHOD FOR PREPARING THEREOF AND RESIN COMPOSITION USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A brominated diphenyl ethane mixture and a resin composition using thereof are provided to secure the fire retardant property, the thermal stability, and the weatherability of the composition by controlling the contents of hexa bromodiphenyl ethane. CONSTITUTION: A brominated diphenyl ethane mixture produced by bromating diphenylethane contains hexa bromodiphenyl ethane, hepta bromodiphenyl ethane, and octa bromodiphenyl ethane. A producing method of the brominated diphenyl ethane mixture comprises a step of adding a brominating agent solution to a diphenylethane solution including a metal salt Lewis acid catalyst, and a step of controlling the contents of the hexa bromodiphenyl ethane into 55~85wt% by reacting the reactants at -20~50 deg C, and a step of controlling the content of a compound substituted with the odd number of diphenylethane Br into 0.01~30wt%.
