METHOD FOR ASSESSING EFFICACY OF THYMOLOL IN TREATMENT OF ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE WITH STENOCARDIA AND ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION

The method for assessing the efficacy of Thymolol in the treatment of the ischemic heart disease with stenocardia and arterial hypertension provides for the comparison of the blood viscosity prior to and after the treatment. Prior to the treatment, the blood is sampled at the state of the rest, and the rheologic properties are assessed by measuring the viscosity of the blood with the aid of the rotational viscosimeter under various shear forces. The same examination is performed after the course of the treatment. When the viscosity of the blood applying the specified shear force decreases by 10% as compared with that prior to the treatment, the hemorheologic and antianginal effects of the treatment are regarded as the positive.
