The metal die casting method comprises flowing a liquid metal into a mold (20) and applying a blind riser (24) to prevent the formation of voids. The riser is filled with the liquid metal. A metal of the riser is polished during its solidification. The progression of the polish is controlled in function of a temperature of the metal in the riser. An independent claim is included for a system for metal die casting of a metal foundry.
