PURPOSE: A resin composition for an optical film, and a manufacturing method of the optical film using thereof are provided to improve the brightness of the optical film after forming a prism thin film, and to improve the obtain the proper viscosity property for a pressing condition. CONSTITUTION: A resin composition for an optical film contains a UV curable unsaturated compound, an ester group reactivity additive, an antistatic agent including a silicone-based reactive resin, a silicone additive, and an initiator. The UV curable unsaturated compound contains fluorene derivative ethoxylated bisphenyl fluorene diacrylate resin with a structure unit marked with chemical formula 1, and a mono-functional and poly-functional UV curable monomer. In the chemical formula 1, X1 and X2 are H or CH_3, respectively. Y1 and Y2 are either H, CH_3, or OH, respectively. The molecular weight of the diacrylate resin is 5,000~20,000.
