PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a suitable recording quality by preventing turbulence of an air current to a paper end, thereby preventing floating (curling) of the paper end. SOLUTION: The printer 1 includes a drier 12A near the upstream side of a recording head 10. The drier 12A promotes drying of a recording paper P by ejecting a warm wind (drying air) from an ejection opening 17a towards the recording paper P. The ejection opening 17a of the warm wind is equipped with movable plates (shutters) 21 for covering the ejection opening 17a on both sides in a paper width direction of the ejection opening 17a to be slidable in the paper width direction. Generation of a turbulent flow of the warm wind in a region outside the paper end is prevented by moving the movable plates 21 and adjusting a warm wind ejection range from the ejection opening 17a in accordance with a width size of the recording paper P.
