PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique effective for appropriately restraining a vehicle occupant in a side collision of the vehicle. SOLUTION: An occupant restraint system 100 mounted on a vehicle changes the set threshold of the collision speed in a side collision of a vehicle 10 between a case when an object P of collision involved in the side collision of the vehicle 10 is a pole-like object and a case otherwise, and controls an airbag module 150 based on the set threshold.
