PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having high belt durability and low rolling resistance. SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire is equipped with, on the outer peripheral side of a crown part of a carcass 10 that extends in a toroidal shape, at least one layer of a circumferentially reinforcing layer 20 comprised of a rubber-covered layer of meandering cords 20a that extends along the circumferential direction of the tire, a crossing belt 30 formed by alternately crossing at least one layer of an inside belt layer 31 which is the rubber-covered layer of a cord (not shown in the figure) that extends with a prescribed angle of inclination with respect to the circumferential direction of the tire, and an outside belt layer 32, and a tread rubber 40. At least one belt layer (the inside belt layer 31 in Fig.1) of the inside belt layer 31 and the outside belt layer 32 configuring the crossing belt 30, has a width W1 larger than a width W2 of the circumferentially reinforcing layer 20, making a wide belt layer, and the pneumatic tire has a low-heat-generating rubber part 50 with a loss tangent less than 0.2, between the end of the circumferentially reinforcing layer 20 and the carcass 10.
