The present invention relates to a refrigerator which can control the temperature of an upper region and a lower region in the same storing space to increase the production amount of slush. The refrigerator includes: a storing unit; a cooling means cooling the inside of the storing unit at a cooling temperature lower than a temperature of the maximum ice crystal formation zone; and a temperature control apparatus mounted in the storing unit and including a storage room with a storing space therein to store a stored object, a temperature sensing means sensing the tem¬perature of the storing space or the stored object, and a temperature control means receiving the sensed temperature from the temperature sensing means, performing a process of maintaining the storing space in a supercooling temperature region over a given time when the storage room or the storing space is cooled to a temperature below the maximum ice crystal formation zone and the stored object enters a supercooled state, and performing a process of lowering the tem¬ perature which lowers the temperature of the storing space to a temperature lower than the su¬ percooling temperature region during the maintaining process.
