<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively determine completion of a boring process without requiring labor of installing a sensor in a furnace body. <P>SOLUTION: The furnace interior state determination device for an arc furnace includes an instrument voltage transformer 52 detecting an arc voltage V of the arc furnace 3, an instrument current transformer 51 detecting an arc current I of the arc furnace 3, a position sensor 41 detecting a position he of an electrode 31 of the arc furnace 3, and a controller 4 calculating an arc length by the detected arc voltage V and the arc current I, estimating a height hs of scrap 32 in the furnace from the detected electrode position he and the calculated arc length L, and determining completion of the boring process when the estimated height hs of the scrap 32 reaches a predetermined value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
