<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bush cutter facilitating an easy and safe cutting work of grasses, etc., in a field, etc., to a desired length in good appearance without necessitating a skilled person of bush cutting work. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The bush cutter used by holding on the shoulder or the back of the worker includes a disc type cutter 2, and a mounting plate 25 fixed on an under face 2a of the cutter 2, and is provided with a rotor 1 rotary driven around a vertical axis L and a bowl shaped ground contacting member 7 installed on the downward side of the rotor 1 as able to rotate idly and freely around the axis L to the rotor 1, wherein the mounting plate 25 is set close to a top edge part 19 of a peripheral wall face 9 of the bowl shaped ground contacting member 7 and provided with an annular suspended wall 26 which prevents weeds winding by surrounding the top edge part 19 from an outer diameter side.
