<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system improving a user's work efficiency by dispensing with troublesome work that the user carries an operating part while visually informing the user of the position of an apparatus to be operated. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming system has an image forming apparatus body for forming an image on a recording medium; one or more processors connected to the image forming apparatus body; an operating part for displaying or inputting various pieces of information; an operating part moving means for moving the operating part; an operating part moving control means for moving, by the operating part moving means, the operating part into a reference position which is a reference set corresponding to each of the image forming apparatus body and processors; and an abnormality detecting means for detecting an abnormal state that has occurred to the image forming apparatus body or the processor. The operating part moving control means moves the operating part into the reference position of the image forming apparatus body or processor whose abnormal state is detected by the abnormality detecting means.
