A method, system and device for key distribution are disclosed to improve the security of private key distribution of identity-based encryption (IBE) technique. In the embodiment of the present invention, private key generator (PKG) acquires infrastructure public key of user, encrypts the IBE private key of the user with the infrastructure public key and sends the encrypted IBE private key to the user, which ensures the IBE private key distributed by the PKG to the user not to be stolen by malicious attackers and improves the security during the IBE private key distribution procedure.
