The battery (1) has a cooling plate (2) in which two galvanic cells (3) are pressed, and a flexible element (4) pressing each galvanic cell. The flexible element is designed as a coil spring and a bending spring that is designed as a leaf spring. The flexible element is formed from a rubber, a foam mat and a wavy bent sheet metal. The galvanic cells are designed as framework flat cells and cylindrical cells. A heat conducting foil (8) or heat conducting molded body or heat conducting sealing compound is provided between the galvanic cells and the cooling plate.
