Provided is a scroll-type fluid machine with which smaller size and lighter weight can be realized, and operating efficiency can be improved. The vertical scroll-type fluid machine (1) houses, in a sealed container (2), a drive shaft (4), the longer direction of which is disposed vertically, a drive side scroll unit (8) that is linked to an eccentric shaft part (6) at one end of the drive shaft and generates drive force, a driven side scroll unit (12) that is linked to an eccentric shaft part (10) at the other end of the drive shaft and to which the drive force generated by the drive side scroll unit is transmitted, and a balance weight (108) supported on the drive shaft. The eccentric shaft parts at the one end and the other end are eccentric in the same phase in the direction of rotation of the drive shaft, one balance weight is provided, and the center of gravity of the balance weight is positioned in a phase offset 180°, in the direction of rotation of the drive shaft, from the phase of the eccentric shaft parts at the one end and the other end.
