<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an printing control method by which color reproducibility can be enhanced while suppressing printing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus contains a plurality of kinds of toner groups of different color reproducing areas in a predetermined color space (e.g., regular toner and vivid toner wider in color reproducing area than the regular toner). The image forming apparatus converts the color information of each part of an image based on image data to be printed into a value on the predetermined color space. Based on relations between the value on the predetermined color space and the color reproducing areas of the plurality of kinds of toner groups registered in advance, the image forming apparatus determines the toner group to be used for the printing of each part of the image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
