PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of rapidly and accurately preventing a toner band or a carrier band from being generated without requiring a large amount of processing and data to adjust a timing of applying a charging bias or a developing bias. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a charging means; a charging bias power source; an exposure means; a developing means; and a developing bias power source. The developing bias power source is a constant voltage power source, and includes: a developing current detecting means for detecting a current flowing in the developing means; and a changing and controlling means that acquires a potential change in the developing means from the developing current detecting means, and calculates a difference between the potential changing timing and a timing of starting/finishing the application of the developing bias from the developing bias power source, and then, changes the image forming condition based on the calculated difference so that the carrier deposition or the toner deposition may be reduced.
