The shielding device is arranged at a steering spindle (1) of a motor vehicle, where the steering spindle is surrounded by bellows. The bellows extend from a passage (20) upto an adjustable slip ring that is arranged on the steering spindle. A seal (3) is surrounded by a metal shaped part (10) at an end. The metal shaped part has an enclosure pointing towards a front wall (30), where the metal shaped part has a passage opening at a front side. The steering spindle is extended through the passage opening. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a shielding device.
