PURPOSE: An authentication method and a system thereof are provided to improve the selling of storage devices through a differentiated product by executing a special function which is independently supported by a manufacturer through an application. CONSTITUTION: A computer system(11) comprises an application(12) executing the function which is provided from a storage device(14). An intermediate converter(13) connects the computer system to the storage device. The storage device stores the order of the application program and predetermined sector addresses. The storage device is authenticated with the application program. The storage device executes a process of modifying data in a predetermined location of the data and a process of returning data into the intermediate converter.
