PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a solar battery is provided to selectively remove desired parts of a protective layer through an etching process using an etching paste. CONSTITUTION: A front side protective film(120) is formed on one side of a first conductive type semiconductor substrate(100). An anti-reflection film(130) is formed on the front side protective film. A first doping unit(141) and a second doping unit(142) are formed on another side of the semiconductor substrate. A rear side protective film(150) is formed on the first doping unit and the second doping unit. A first electrode(161) is formed on an adjacent rear side protective film. A second electrode(162) is formed on the second doping unit on which is not covered by the rear side protective film.
