PURPOSE: A data read method is provided to minimize undesired interference by adjusting the position of a detector and to position the detector to a place where surface reflection intensity is weakest. CONSTITUTION: A data read method comprises next steps. An electromagnetic radiative beam is emitted from the surface(64) of an optical disc. The electromagnetic radiation reflected to a detector(70) from the optical disc is detected. The detector is controlled in order to increase the detection of the reflection(18) from a micro reflector(60). The electromagnetic radiation reflected is transformed to an electric signal showing the intensity of the electromagnetic radiation reflected. The electromagnetic radiation reflected includes the reflection(66) from a surface and the reflection from the micro reflector within the optical disc.
