<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asynchronous transfer system having high processing efficiency, allowing synchronous transfer between two devices operating at different frequencies, and allowing each of the devices to independently execute processing in parallel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The asynchronous transfer system includes, on a communication path between a device 1 and a device 2, a first interface circuit 4 operating by an internal clock of the device 1; and a second interface circuit 5 operating by an internal clock of the device 2. Each of the first and second interface circuits transmits a ready signal of one circuit to the other interface circuit, generates a response signal when receiving the ready signal transmitted from the other interface, transmits it to the one interface, and keeps a standby state until communication between the devices is enabled when either of the devices is not in communication.
