The device has a floating body (10) provided in a container and made to float in liquid (14), where position of the body depends on type and amount of the liquid in the container. The liquid flows into and from the container through an inlet and an outlet (2) during a control operation of the container. The body closes an outlet opening (7) of the outlet. A rear accumulating valve is integrated into the container, and releases or closes a valve opening in the outlet for the liquid. The valve opening is located along a flow direction of the liquid over the outlet behind the outlet opening.
