<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image replay apparatus for displaying an optional image from continuously displayed images, without requiring a particular operation prior to use. <P>SOLUTION: If a user operates a replay pause button 221, when a moving image is being replayed, a control apparatus executes a moving image replay stop action to make the replay of the moving image stop temporarily and causes a display screen 12 to transit to a pause display state. The moving image replay stop action involves calculating the level or the likelihood of matching an image determination criteria for frame detection, with respect to all frames, from the moment at which the replay pause button 221 is operated by the user to a time point earlier by a time period for performing frame detection. A main display area 310 displays a frame image with the highest likelihood.
