<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having a display panel provided with a color correction area without using a private video card and a private video driver, and to provide a display method. <P>SOLUTION: The display panel 11 comprises: an information display area 12 for presenting information; and a color correction area 13 facing a color sensor to display an image for color correction. A display controller 41 transmits processed image data or the like from an input image signal to an X-driver 21 to display an image on the information display area 12. A false STB signal generation circuit 51 receives various kinds of clock signals and falsely generates an STB signal. Further, an STB2 signal provided by adding a false STB signal to an STB(strobe) signal generated by the display controller 41 is supplied to the X-driver 21.
