PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquisition system that is difficult for a third party to determine which user information is present in an electronic post office box. SOLUTION: An electronic post office box server 30 obtains each user's personal information in advance from an information providing server, eg., a J1 information providing server 51, which creates unique user ID information for identifying each user and retains user personal information in association with the user ID information. The each user's personal information is registered as reference information in association with the user ID information in an electronic post office box provided for each information providing server. The each user's ID information in each information providing server required to obtain the reference information is registered for each user in association in an ID management server 60 that can be accessed only when mutual authentication with an IC card 10 recording information for personal authentication is successful. Only when a user terminal 20 with the normal IC card 10 installed therein requests the ID management server 60 to obtain information, the reference information about that user can be obtained at a time from the electronic post office box server 30.
