PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a suspension of porous polymer particles, and porous polymer particles capable of removing an organic solvent or the like in the particles without drying after obtaining a suspension of porous polymer particles by a suspension polymerization method. SOLUTION: The production method of the suspension of porous polymer particles comprises: a process (1) for copolymerizing a monomer component containing a crosslinkable vinyl monomer and a vinyl monomer having one vinyl group by an oil in water type suspension polymerization method using a solvent having a solubility parameter of 9.0 (cal/cm<SP>3</SP>)<SP>1/2</SP>or less; and a process (2) for concentrating the reaction mixture obtained in the process (1) until the solid content concentration becomes 30 wt.% or more by adding a solvent having a solubility parameter of 9.1 to 11.5 (cal/cm<SP>3</SP>)<SP>1/2</SP>or less to the reaction mixture. The production method of porous polymer particles is a method by filtering the suspension of porous polymer particles obtained by the above production method to remove the solvent and water.
