<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step device for the getting-on/off of a construction machine capable of minimizing a vehicle width by eliminating a projection to a side of a cab at a storage position of a step plate, lowering a vehicle height and increasing support strength at an extended position of the step plate without causing increases of sizes and weight of a member and a part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the construction machine, an upper part turning body is mounted to a lower part traveling body so as to be turnable, and the cab is provided in a front of the upper part turning body. In the step device of the construction machine, the step plate 21 is rotatably provided at a side surface of the cab by making one end as a hinge side. The step plate functions as a step of getting-on/off at an extended position from substantially horizontally projecting from the side surface of the cab, and constitutes a part of the side surface of the cab at the storage position hung down to be substantially flush with the side surface of the cab.
